A lil dandruff, a lil late…..

Not to say the barber is 100% right but I’m seeing a trend here

The barber I used to go to was chronically late. shyt was bad to the point the other barbers at the shop was mad at him for making their shop look unprofessional. He was good though. I stopped going to him.
The barber I have now is better and way more professional. He owns his shop. Never had a barber try to talk crazy though.

yes pushing my line back, long story short, talk to them. Next time they do it, don't tip and look for a new one.

When you read OPs post for its random excuses this post becomes hilarious :laff:

But yeah I had a barber from 2010-2015 or so who was a total dikk for no reason. Not sure what happened between us but he would talk shyt and disrespect me randomly when I'd be in his shop. He was a weird dude. One time he snapped on me while I was waiting outside of his shop in my car, not knowing he was ready for me to come in. I decided then that I needed to leave before I ended up fighting him. It sucks.

My thing is everybody says support Black businesses, but the truth Black people have the worst customer service with other Black people, but they never give attitude to white people, smh.
This can't be true because he was nice to you for dozens of occasions before this one.

I can't remember which poster it was but somebody posted yesterday that the reason black business fails is because the patrons are unwilling to view one or two bad days as a blip on the radar, but instead it's viewed as a racial character trait of the establishment.

This is supposed to be a barbershop but i think this is the best I'm gonna get :yeshrug:
output.jpg

long story super short I missed a barber appointment that I made, but I wasn't feeling well and my phone was messing up even tho I tried to call him twice

1st off he charged me an extra fee for missing the appointment, but my thing is if you charge customers for missing appointments you should tell them that WHEN THEY MAKE THE APPOINTMENT. I was like I didn't know that and he hands me some flimsy a$$ pamphlet, but I just charged it to the game and got my cut.

Then he admitted that he got mad and I checked him man to man that it wasn't no reason to get mad because ANYTHING could've happened.

HeII my one of my family members just got shot to death last week, so even tho I'm a nice, quiet dude who's positive I didn't have time for the petty sh1t.

then dude caught another attitude cuz he asked me did I want the razor, I said no at first then in a few minutes I changed my mind and was like use the razor, he didn't raise his voice or nothing but the nicca asked with an attitude "is that everything, you sure", and I'm far from a sensitive dude but I straight up asked the nicca did he wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something?

The thing is the barber was mad cool the first time I went, gave me A LOT of hair care advice that I never been told, and washed my hair for free even tho they charge. That's why I didn't tell him about his a$$ and left, because if he said one more thing I would've gotten up in the middle of my cut and left without paying and would've dared him to charge me anyway.

Good news is we talked and everything got peacefully resolved, and he repeatedly let me know we're good....But, if he catches another attitude I'm finding another barber, which pisses me off because he's a great barber with the most hair and scalp advice I've ever heard. I don't want to cut off my nose to spite my face, but I'm not paying somebody my money if they have an attitude problem. But like I said the conflict resolved peacefully so hopefully it stays that way.

My thing is he's not the first barber I left because they tried to get pissed at me. My first barber I had genuinely got mad at me because I had a lil dandruff (was sick that week too so I just took quick showers without taking the extra time to let the shampoo and conditioner set on my head in the shower because I was physically weak). That was the last time I went to his punk a$$ for a cut.

My thing is everybody says support Black businesses, but the truth Black people have the worst customer service with other Black people, but they never give attitude to white people, smh.

Another family member of mine went into an African art store and got treated completely shytty.

I know I went off on a tangent a lil, but did any coli brehs have any issues with rude barbers, or Black businesses in general ?

Had a barber have a high price for cutting hair and wasn’t that good to warrant that price. He was cutting me for a long time maybe like over 5 years off n on. He fell out w the shop he was at and got his private studio close to where I worked at the time. $65+ for a cut is excessive mind you I don’t pay more than $100 for my long hair on top for a retwist that lasts way longer than a haircut and I told him this and most of the time my retwist is only $50. I always have a rule to having atleast two hair people to keep the pressure on them. They come late to an appointment or have you waiting more than 10 minutes because they double booked or ran late? Go to the other hair person next time. I gave him a 1 star review on the Booksy app because of the price. Not only that he started getting more stingy with the alcohol and wouldn’t want to touch up the facial hair like that unless I paid more. I have another barber who’s far better that only charges $40 for everything he’s just further away from me. He didn’t like that I gave him that one star and then so he started to cancel the appointments and I called him out on it asking was it because of the review because I’ve already told him my concerns for the high price haircut. If you’re gonna charge that much, I want a drink everytime and those fugazi massages otherwise I’m getting hoed especially since they only have to fade the sides and maybe some facial hair. The final nail in the coffin was when he was trying to push blue chews on me so that’s a near $100 or just over that every two weeks for a barber like damn if the rent that high for you maybe you should work at a shop where u don’t have to price gouge. I told him all of this he also use to bug me about little petty sales when I was doing that and if I didn’t respond fast enough he’ll just buy it online fukk that nikka I swear I wanna slap him up one time.

Had a barber that was a cool guy. Went to the barbershop like 2 years. One day dude gives me a cd and tells me it’s his rap cd out the blue. Told me to check it out. I didn’t bother listening to it… but I just lied and told him it was dope. What else am I gonna tell the nikka cutting my hair? So this turns into this dude spitting some bars while he cutting my hair. Long story short I didn’t go back ever again. A line was crossed

nah breh, you misunderstood my post. I only went to that barber twice, first time he was cool, 2nd time he acted an a$$ even after I apologized and paid the late fee he still had an attitude. I wasn't looking for a hookup because we're both Black or anything.

I don't go to him anymore, I go to a Dominican barber now who's cool, and he charges less too.

I understand why what I said about Black businesses rubbing some people the wrong way so let me clarify myself. I 100% support Black businesses but this wasn't the first time a Black business acted funny.

I went to a Black business with my brother, he was wearing a Bob Marley shirt and the employee caught an attitude and asked what he knew about Bob Marley.

My brother politely asked if she recommended any books about Bob Marley and she caught a bigger attitude so we left. That business is closed now.

As far as Black businesses there should be a MUTUAL RESPECT between the Black employees and the Black customers.

Another time this Black woman was selling pictures, I'm going to keep that story short but she basically tried to finessed me even though I was trying to support her.

I'm surprised my thread came back up because it's old and I'm strictly on my positivity tip.

And don't get me wrong, I went to other Black businesses that were cool, bought a dope African mask and everything was all good

so as a man I just want to clarify I wasn't talking about all Black businesses or even most, but I don't care what color you are, I'm not paying my money to ANYONE that's rude.

peace and blessings Coli fam

No major issues besides pay increases. No more weekly cuts for me.
