Is this a regional/generational thing where middle school is now called grade school? Growing up grade school was 1-5, middle school was 6-8, high school was 9-12.

depends on where you are at....Where I was or when I was in school 7-8 was Jr High....9-12 was HS. K-6 Elementary. Girls started turning up around 6th grade. But as most of us can admit now it shouldn't of been normal and it may have been in home molestation or something going on.
