I stayed on punishment and couldn’t stay up late to watch the Sunday and Monday night football games and I use to sneak listen to sportstalk 980 am on my Walkman.

Thats what made the radio so important in that era. This was before Twitter. Sports talk radio was the only way to really get a pulse for how the city felt about the sports teams
