i can understand the "he say the same shyt" complaint.

but dismissing an artist just cus they "old" is stupid.

young people want to listen to their contemporaries though. they want to relate to the person they're listening to. slang, fashion, and music taste (beats, etc) can change drastically in 5 years, let alone 10 years ago when Maino and Murda were new. and young people are the ones with the energy to go to shows and the expendable income to buy merch and shyt. in 1993 there were probably 40 year old dues mad that Dre and Snoop were running shyt and saying kids should be listening to Run DMC instead.

The other thing is all this complaining just pushes people away even more. All these old rappers spend more time bytching about the fans and support they don't have, than serving their current fanbase.
