He did that on I Got The Keys and people still hated.

He did this for MCHG and we got a mediocre album that people continue to complain about as if it offended them in some way.

But with IGTK is exactly what Im talking about from all the Khaled hype, the pictures, the snippets and that song did not move hiphop culture what so ever.

Jay z doesn't matter to the tastemakers in hiphop anymore and he knows that.

Jay don't need her. He can hold his own

:snoop: Don't do this breh.

I personally won't bother checking out the album unless a bunch of people co sign a song or two. Crazy In Love makes my skin crawl.

Did y'all forget the stunts he pulled to make hiphop focus on MCHG? Samsung putting it in on their phones, the commercials during the NBA finals where he is in the studio vibing with Kanye, Timbo, Pharrell and JT ( who was having a huge year)

Jay z isn't dropping albums for critical acclaim or dropping albums that only his stans like me and old heads will press play on day 1. He's only
dropping an album that will have everyone tuned in and talking like Lemonade and Views this year.

And we know he can only achieve this one way.
This!
I want an album full of arrogant and coke tales Hov. The majority of the collabs with his wife are forgettable.

This is a lie

Upgrade U
On the run
Crazy in love
Deja vu

These songs are know by everybody that listens to urban music.

And they have like 3 other collabs outside of those.

Maybe, just maybe, Jay-z being a legend got people to want to work with him. Instead of some how magically bullying all these people to help him get attention on an album.

Drake makes a move with Apple, you laud him as a genius business man and a great move. Jay-z makes a move with Samsung, which is a similar company in a few markets, and it was some old man attempt to stay relevant?

Last but not least, if he isn't relevant, why is Drake talking about him in songs? Why is he featured on Drake's album for 2 bars?

he needs her to be relevant
To who? Anyone who feels that aint value jays gift of music in the first place. Real jay fans know their collabs are lacking in chemistry. I actually prefer jay music that didn't pander and maybe existed off the grid. He dont need the money that relevance guarantees.

Are you really claiming that IGTK is a bigger song than For Free?

EDIT: For Free reached #14 on the charts. IGTK is #30

Jay z is the GOAT of rap and damn sure the GOAT when it comes to rappers like Drake

But his music doesn't matter to the tastemakers of rap... This is all I'm saying

You're kidding right you don't think Jay z is isn't trying to make music impacts Hiphop culture in 2016

Everyone who makes music is trying to make an impact.....that's part of the point of doing it in the first place, at least on a big stage.

Make an impact yes, be relevant to the tastemakers and be biggest project in rap, NO.

Some just placate their stans like Nas.
