I think it's important to note that we're nowhere near the mass wave of white supremacist violence that colored the 1980s and the 1990s - and I think even with worrying signs that there were some cohesive attempts at violence from the neo-Nazi ranks, that we're nowhere near a white nationalist revolution.

We almost were, after Ruby Ridge and Waco - but that kind of national coverage and rallying has materialized since then.

Also, demographic shifts occurring today weren't as big of an issue 30/40 years ago.

In 1980 the electorate was 80% white, 12% black, 6% hispanic and 2% asian.

In 2020 it was appx 67% white, 13% black and 13% hispanic

Pretty incredible cognitive dissonance when virtually all the Republican political leaders are saying, "This is a just and obvious verdict" while all the populist mouthpieces are telling those same audiences, "This is an obvious travesty of justice!"

If only Republicans had enough integrity to support just one and not the other.
