Obviously from the POV of Zelenskiy he wants to raise the stakes. From every other NATO members POV though, it would be an unnecessary escalation in hostilities. If Ukraine was to join NATO, NATO would be obligated to defend Ukrainian territory which would bring the prospects of WW3 much closer.

Not sure about y'all, but I don't want this to happen. Not trynna lose mine and my families life over Ukraine

Yeah if you look at it from a strictly Ukrainian perspective. If Ukraine joins NATO we will all be at war, which is infinitely worse than anything we've seen thus far.
