:unimpressed:I thought Putin went and did something stupid stupid.
he did annex some Ukraine territories today , which if Ukraine tries to take back...he can escalate the conflict and say that he is defending Russian territory.

:whoa::whoa:

Obviously from the POV of Zelenskiy he wants to raise the stakes. From every other NATO members POV though, it would be an unnecessary escalation in hostilities. If Ukraine was to join NATO, NATO would be obligated to defend Ukrainian territory which would bring the prospects of WW3 much closer.

Not sure about y'all, but I don't want this to happen. Not trynna lose mine and my families life over Ukraine:gucci:

It was a mistake to expand aggressively eastwards in the first place.
I supported Ukraine in Russia's whole special military operation, because it was an unfounded and unjust offensive, and the implications if the US and NATO didn't support them would be increasingly detrimental to the west, not just for Ukraine and former Soviet countries, not just western Europe, but it would set a precedent in Asia as well.

However, I don't want this to escalate to WW3 because they join NATO. That WOULD be a clear provocation to Russia unlike all the other bullshyt they've been spewing for the last 8 months.

nukes would be dropped before there was ever war on US soil lol

we might end up living in a M.A.D. nuclear annihilation hell world if we survive tho
Basically.

The war starts and ends with both sides launching and landing hundreds to thousands of nukes on each other.

So at that point, each side will think it's pointless to step foot on a nuclear wasteland if there are even any soldiers left to step foot.

Exactly think the world is gonna volunteer to risk their troops in a nuclear wasteland.

Or it stays conventional and when Russia is invaded suddenly the russkies are down to fight as the Germans found out twice.

Either way if a single american boot touches Russian soil we get to give them trillions of dollars to rebuild.

shyt is almost like The Mouse that Roared

Nobody is firing nukes. Calm down.

Thx for easing my fears breh. I can sleep better now that a coli breh gave that guarantee. :comeon:

The point is that direct conflict between NATO and Russia dramatically increases the risk of nuclear warfare. I don't see how you can disagree with that.

We've been engaging in proxy conflicts with Russia for decades now, but nothing close to a direct conflict.

That's basically my position as well. NATO has to walk a fine line in this conflict. On one hand, deter Russia (and China wrt Taiwan) from future invasions/act of sabotage, and on the other hand keep this conflict contained so it does not escalate into a full blown confrontation with Russia.

It's not an easy balancing act.

Ukraine wants to have us more committed to this war than what is reasonable.

Very interesting how American killers can get in and assassinate African and Latin American leaders and get fake coups popping off to install puppet leaders but can't do it in a white country like Russia.

Very interesting indeed.

US did it to Russia in the 90s with Boris Yeltsin. Russia returned the favor with Trump lmao
