shytttt AT&T just rolled out 'internet fast lanes

"As of right now, the only three services using AT&T’s sponsored data program are DirecTV, UVerse, and Fullscreen. By a huge coincidence, those are three video services owned by AT&T. “Now your plan includes sponsored data. This means, for example, that customers who have DirecTV or U-verse TV can now stream movies and shows … without it counting against their plan data,” AT&T told customers in a text message earlier today"

Say goodnight to net neutrality as AT&T just rolled out 'internet fast lanes'

:wow: i got direct tv an U verse so we on unlimited data any way so this don't effect me for now but i'm sure they find a way to take away our unlimited net next :francis:

This shows how powerless the people really are...Folks kept on saying "Call your congressmen" "Call your local congressman" These cowards are scared to say anything and don't wanna lose their place in the pecking order. Wheres Google? Facebook? Apple? Microsoft? Amazon? These Tech Giants benefit and made billions off the people and yet none of them stepped up and said anything to defend the people from their surfing privileges getting snatched.

Four fukking people were selected to vote on something cynical is this. FOUR people changed the dynamic of the entire country and how it runs through technology. We didn't vote any of these fukkbowys in the first place and yet here they are making decisions. :pacspit:
The big tech companies are going to be ok regardless...

its a money grab, but its not about the consumers, its about big time companies like Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, etc.etc

ISP's want them to pay up.......and now they wont have any protections and have to let the vultures get in their pockets........they are getting untold billions off the consumers......that shyt is chump change to them

Ain't nobody trying to be nickel and dimed by shyt that was free a day ago or some shyt.
I really want to agree with you, but there's a precedent for this. Those of us who were alive during the 80's & early 90's remember people saying the same thing about water; It was free back then! Now, bottled water has taken over.
As far as the net goes, people may push back initially, but we'll eventually fall in line.
TL:DR- Get ready to pay Comcast/Cox/Time Warner an extra $57.99 each month for high speed internet, brehs & brehettes.

So from the entire gist of this is: internet will be slower and high quality streams will be shyt unless you're willing to pay extra?

From the way y'all making it out it sound like Fallout 3 but im getting very heavy "Y2K" scare vibes.:ld:
If I’m not mistaken it’ll be a matter of you having to pay for what type of internet service you want. In other words, there’ll be a fee for playing games online separate from streaming like Netflix which will also be separate from browsing :manny:. I’m sure someone has already explained it clearly on here.
