"He had already written Mary J. Blige’s hit songs “Reminisce” and “Love No Limit,”

"what many people didn’t know until after his passing, is that he was a bisexual man that sadly, got AIDS from a partner."

a raw sex anthem sung by a cheek burner...you cant make this shyt up

song is still a jam...

One day some of y'all will appreciate pretentious ass music snobs!

People became lazy when it comes to finding music. That is the one thing I don't like about today's technological advances in the music game!

Because someone doesn't hear some mind blowing melodies when they open their music apps, then they think good music no longer exists even though there are websites, message boards, blogs, music sites/aps and even vintage ass music stores and outlets that say otherwise.

I can imagine me still being on this self righteous, self aggrandizing and pretentious trope that REAL HIPHOP is dead and been dead for well over 2-3 decades & counting beause the of the shyt I like isn't being made anymore when in all likelihood, I probably wouldn't even listen to that shyt today. Lol

The only artists that matter are the ones who are played on the terrestrial radio huh? If an artist isn't receiving an award on BET or isn't in on Sirius satellite radio, then it doesn't exist huh?

OK..

Y'all will learn one day...

I'm tired of hearing this excuse.

This is why the music is in the damn shape it's in right now, because of BS like this.

They still make good music on internet radio just not past 2008 :mjlol:. At this point, I am over trying to chase a waterfall that's been closed from the public permanently. We living in a world where R and B is basically dudes gloating about making the p*ssy squirt, instead of loving the woman for life.

Where women want the p*ssy busted open, instead of desiring a man to take the fear of a cold world away from her.

Even the sex tunes back in the day set off a four play escapade, than these eager fukks that's singing verbal STDs and having that same tired ass islander sound:francis:

There's no hope because them songs thats been posted will never be made again. No matter how deep we go into the Youtube rabbit hole provided by a incense using cac, or Spotify suggest some Bandcamp singer that restored the feeling temporary, but you are not going to buy the damn album...there will never be a time like 60s to mid 2000s R and B.

No matter how much Gen Z and some flabby ass singer going to sing otherwise, the fact remains that R and B is dead, and it officially was declared dead when Tony Brown died this year:mjcry:
I accepted the fact that R&B was never going to be the same again when Mike and Prince passed. :mjcry:

And you're right. Folks have been chasing waterfalls to the point that they would prop up anything and everything to re-live the old days.

That's why it's best to stick with the classics call it a day.

How is it an excuse?

If you refuse to accept the truth, then that's on you!

I speak from experience!

I don't go around crying about there is no good music out there. Why? Because there is good music out there.

You are probably a jiggy rap/R&B fan! Y'all are spoiled because y'all have marginal artists on the biggest platforms. Y'all favorite artists are played on the radio, etc. Y'alls artist get all the advertisement and exposure.

But, people like me that know what's up know the majority of artists aren't on major platforms. They are trying to get in where they fit in.

They have to grind to get heard. They are underground. On chitlin circuits. They reach out to DJs. They get on independent platforms to get their shyt out.

That's why your retort is wrong.

You want to hear dope shyt, right? Then first make sure you have a dope ear to recognize dope shyt.

Then go searching for it!

You don't have to go to record stores like I did. You dont have to spend a gang of money. You don't have to go on auctions and bid on records. You have easy access to finding damn near anything that you want. It just may be not as easy as you want it to be.

Pretty much :francis:.

One day, I decided to do some digging on Deezer to find some quality R and B that's in current form. Lets just say that I played the same damn song over and over again because every singer sounded the same. Outside of a few brehs like Eric Roberson, these youngins just lacking the comprehension of soul :beli:. Its like they sing through the nose and digital downloads, instead of the heart. Folks forget that majority of why r and b from the past is timeless because it started from the roots of church.

Most of those singers had backgrounds from choir and corner store quintet shyt. Versus the dudes nowadays that can carry a melody and manage to sing the same shyt as rappers. Its not singing, it's just rapping with a melodic flow.

This is not soul at all :skip:

No. I'm a person who grew up on 60s-70s Soul who actually appreciates the music and has a large collection of it.

Again, I don't want to hear any excuses.
