How does #4 help us tho? How does allowing the republican candidates win without putting up a fight help our cause going forward? I can tell you how it hurts our cause, but can you tell me how abstaining at any level helps?

What’s y’alls home states respectively?
You're looking for a comfortable revolution. Median ADOS wealth will be zero by 2053. Dems are ushering in a new voting base to replace us. The demand for repair is now or never. If they say, no fukk ADOS, then we have to decide what's next.

I'm in MD.

It will suck but we have to draw a line at some point otherwise Dems will never take us seriously if they now we will show up to vote without any specifics for us.

If a Dem wins but feels they have to do nothing for black folks then what do we get? The same shytty status quo many of us were asleep under during Obama.

I'm not doing that Van Jones "black folks gotta be the ones to save Democracy" crap anymore. You want our help, it comes with a price.
Oh well you live n a blue state where the republicans have little chance to take control of the government. Those of us in swing states don’t have the luxury of taking this “give something to us specifically or we ain’t voting” position. I’m in NC and the republicans here are the grimiest of the grimey. They don’t play fair and are unapologetic about it. They went so far as to to disempower the black community here that the SC told them that they were being too racist. We’ve got too much to lose here to be playing these “no tangibles no vote” games. We’re turning hold on to the so-called “rights” that we supposedly have.
@Gravity
Letting the Dems lose after refusing to abide by our agenda, might cause them to get some “act right” and come harder for us next election. :dame:

ADOS got three options.
  1. We continue to religious vote Dem, even after they continue tocommit to not doing shyt for us, thus we stay at the bottom.
  2. Say “fukk all these candidates” w/o actually going to them and demanding what you want. You still don’t get shyt.
  3. Advocate for what we collectively, and let them know that we won’t support them unless they do what we want.
It’s been proven time and time again, that we’ll lose with options 1-2. Is option 3 guaranteed to work? No, but we can’t keep doing shyt don’t work(options 1-2), we gotta send these candidates a message that we ain’t to be played w/ and you might lose w/o our support.

I’m in a “blue city”(NYC) but they had a Repub mayor less than 20 y/o ago as well as a governor.
Again, you're someone else in a solid blue state with a solid blue legislature. Having republican mayor and governor doesn’t mean too much when you’ve got a solid blue state legislature. We’ve got a blue governor in NC but the republicans have neutered dude and he’s all but powerless up against them. The res public and run shyt here because they control the state legislature.

I don’t believe the options you listed are either-or. I think 1 and 3 can be combined. We can continue to vote against the republicans, but we’ve got to get more invested and serious about the political process. Up until now we’ve treated voting as if it’s the end all be all. We just vote then sit around hoping for the best. We have to vote and keep the pressure on the folk that we help elect. We’ve got to groom our own candidates and support them from the ground up. We’ve got to pool our resources and use our money and help fund the candidates that we want to see on these ballots. Etc etc etc.

Sitting out elections to hurt the dems hoping that they’re going to then crawl back to us with a bag of free shyt isn’t a real strategy to me. Thinking that if the dems lose that they’re going to be forced to give us reparations isn’t going to happen people. Give that pipe dream up. If anything, if the dems lose to trump and the republicans in this next cycle they’re going to pivot more to the fight and chase the people who vote for trump. They’re certainly not going to pivot further to the left in the event of another loss to trump.

Again, it’s easy to talk the shyt y’all are talking sitting in states where the republicans are the clear minority and have no real shot to assume power. I suspect that the both of y’all would see it differently if you were in a state like NC dealing g with these overtly racist republicans.

Whats this “new voting base to replace us”? We’re a 30 million person voting block. We’ll always have the power to sway elections one way or the other. I assume you’re referring to Hispanics, but Hispanics aren’t a monolith and they have conflicts of interest amongst their various sub groups. As the Hispanics get their weight up more and more they’ll vote republican in higher numbers.

That's why we are suggesting vote Dem locally if that's what you need to do but for the top of the ticket we have to me it know we are not satisfied. We know the conditions in each state will be a little bit different.

My state is Blue but is run by corrupt corporate Democrats. The Dem establishment here seems to hate Progressives.

As long as cats are understand that completely abstaining from the political process isn’t the way.

If it wasn’t for the judges I’d be more open to letting trump kick the Democrat’s ass(which he probably will anyway) without opposing him because I don’t believe in any of the democrat candidates either. The thought of dude getting g another SC pick and 4 more years to fukk with the federal bench is just too much tho.

I would say advocate for what you want, and tell them to eat a dikk if they don’t oblige. I live in a “liberal hotbed” of NYC, where the white mayor loved to show his black wife and kids come election time, yet he hasn’t done shyt against the numerous race soldiers who harm black folk here.

ADOS in these “big bad Republican” areas are more of less dealing with the same white supremacy that I’m going through here in my “liberal haven”.

They should be matching in the MLK and Juneteenth parades to gain more clout.

Hispanic/Latino isn’t a race. They didn’t vote 70% for the dems against “build that wall and put the kids in cages” trump. Bush actually got 44% of the Hispanic vote. Most Hispanics self id as white and they have no problem with systematic white supremacy. The only reason that they haven’t pivoted towards the republicans yet is because of the immigration thing. Once that gets resolved one way or the other, they aren’t fukking the dems like that.

The irony is the Dem strongholds like California and NY, even the DMV are run by corporate Dems. The southern and midwest Dems seem to embrace progressive values more (unions, labor laws, medicare 4 all).

I've heard left wingers complaining for years about Cuomo.

Technocrats run California.
