I don't agree with how extreme he is in his sentiment. A little click baity... but he had some valid points. He went over the top with the finished thing. :yeshrug:
I wanted to disagree cause its a cac, but fac's is fac's... most of ya'll prolly aint even read it.

Future was already an influencer, but he still seemed to be discovering his voice during the great Monster/Beast Mode/56 Nights run. He found strange new melodic possibilities in his beaten-down codeine flow, more ways to express coldness. All of a sudden, he sounded like a generational icon, a man with a serious sense of purpose even when he was simply rapping about making himself so numb that he could barely walk. For that run, Future stared into the depths of despair and made that sh*t sound cool.

Absolute Facts :smugfavre:

On “I Got The Keys,” he sounds like he wants to finish repeating his two phrases over and over so that he can go back to sleep. He sounds like he’s just there. He’s never really sounded like that before.

this is true :ehh:

I worried about this earlier this year, when Future followed the pretty-good Purple Reign with the relatively flat EVOL. But Project E.T., Future’s new tape with DJ Esco, makes it all too obvious to ignore. Purple Reign and EVOL at least had one undeniable hit apiece. (That would be “Wicked” and “Low Life,” respectively.) Project E.T. has nothing.

:ld:

Future’s problem right now isn’t the absolute glut of music he’s released over the past few years. It’s not the fatigue that comes with the horde of Future soundalikes who have bubbled up in the past two years, or the numbing dominance of the Atlanta trap sound.

:jbhmm: this is true

On the would-be hit “100it Racks,” 2 Chainz dunks Future in a vat of toxic waste and then smashes him with a car like he was that one bad guy in Robocop.

this is T.R.U :sas2:

Judging by his new Rolling Stone cover-story profile, he’s worried about even the idea of switching up what he’s doing. (And honestly the mere fact that Future is on the cover of Rolling Stone is further reason to be worried.) After all, when he tried to cross over on Honest, it didn’t work, and he had to remake himself as a mixtape monster.

This is Valid:francis:

The fact that a gem like "married to the game" can show up on a throwaway esco tape makes me feel like future ain't done. Also, I like EVOL, it's not DS2, but it's good. I think if he takes his time putting something else out - like use the adventures from this upcoming tour as source material, he can drop a very solid project at the end of the year. That said, even if the "quality" declined he's still the second hottest rapper this year, I hear his shyt everywhere :manny:

Future peaked with 56 nights, been said it :yeshrug:
Don't think he can make a mixtape better than that. Future is a great artist but dude is really scarred by Honest and afraid to experiment. He hasn't progressed in the last half year at all, which would be way less noticeable if he didn't just put out mixtape after mixtape to please fans. His shyt just sounds so stale now

I been telling y'all future is hard to get through bar to bar, song to song the longer his career goes.
Plus, you don't genuinely know if he wrote the music as of late.
when he ramped in technical skill out of nowhere on that Tim Westwood freestyle shyt.

This has been out there for quite some time and yeah the bulk of the work we got in the mixtape run worked.
All because the projects were not long and you could not Id the flaw so readily.
Yet when you are an oversaturation method based artist.
You will have to keep a standard high quality rhyme base bar to bar and future leaves a lot to be desired bar to bar.
Especially since his improvement sounded like ear drummas artist all working together.
In the Gen of no flex zone to the mix tape run.
Coupled with the whole future won't let his process get recorded situation.

He can always re-invigorate himself because this whole generation is the racks flow over and over again.
So, if he can switch up again and rebolster this dip in quality and redo his draw over and over again.
Future and the racks flow is pretty much what the mca model to jiggy was that hurt rap.
While also making it the only type of record people knew to connect to rap in pop general mainstream aesthetics.
So, to future's credit he pretty much birthed this gen's idea of what a flow should be they like and he could do it over again.
as a voice over artist or if he wrote it himself as well.
