Okay I know Timbo likes to flex his muscles at the end of tracks but he definitely overdid it this time. Most of the stretched out conclusions of these songs don't add much of anything.

The switch ups at the ends of What Goes Around... and Summer Love... were classic.

The same technique is now somewhat played and not as well executed on this album. Songs are too long with boring, noninnovative 2 minute stretches at the end. I'm sorry but Timbo needs to learn some new moves.

This shyt isn't a bad album by any stretch of the imagination but it feels underwhelming because Justified and FutureSex/LoveSounds were moments in the game. I genuinely think FutureSex/LoveSounds was a fukking game changer. Justified had straight heaters on that shyt that still ring off today. That shyt went some way to birthing the Neptunes sound.

20/20 put up nice numbers but it wasn't a moment. No jams on there are going to define this generation. Nothing on that was revolutionary or shifted the culture like them other joints were. Hell, Blurred Lines is more of a moment this year than anything on the Justin LP.

So yeah I am feeling the album, some incredible joints on there. But I feel you sameway, OP.

Dope Album to me. Someone provide me a link to a better R&B release this year.

I can see what you're saying since The 20/20 Experience didn't have any huge groundbreaking number one hits like FS/LS did with SexyBack, My Love, and What Goes Around but I still think overall that 20/20 is the better album.

And 20/20 is WAY better than Justified. Justified was kinda wack imo.

:wtf:

So you weren't feeling Don't Hold the Wall, Strawberry Bubblegum, Spaceship Coupe, and That Girl? :snoop:

Wow. These are all the songs

Well that's not saying much. R&B is pretty much a dead genre. Almost all R&B is trash these days.

But I will say Miguel's Kaleidoscope Dream album from 2012 is just as good if not better.

The only tracks that weren't that good were Pusher Love Girl, Suit and Tie, and Blue Ocean Floor. The rest of the songs are all :ohlawd:

Plus this album feels way more cohesive than Justified and FS/LS. Definitely his best album.
:what: @ blue ocean floor not being a good. Yea it's depressing but still a good track. But yea this cd is still a good.

Futuresex/Lovesounds had more standouts, but 20/20 works better as an album overall. The album wasn't underwhelming at all. I don't think there's anything wack on the album. With FS/LS, I still don't really feel "Sexy Ladies" or "Another Song".

Still listening to it every now and then, usually just let the shyt play through, whole album rides. Those bonus track though were :stopitslime:.

A step below FS/LS to me, but that album was near perfect so...

Brandy, Monica, Keyshia Cole, SWV, Alicia Keys, Melanie Fiona, R.Kelly & Frank Ocean all dropped pretty decent albums last year. R&B is far from dead its just not that mainstream anymore.

I'll give you Frank Ocean but the music on rest of the albums on your list are basic retreading the same formulas from the last decade over and over.

Look at who you just mentioned: Brandy, Monica, R Kelly and SWV. All way past their primes. That's the best in R&B???

Yeah some of the songs and albums may sound good but the music isn't evolving. Once a genre loses all of it's innovation I consider it to be dead. The sound of R&B hasn't changed much at all since maybe 2002?

The vultures are circling bro. I used to love R&B hard myself but it is what it is.
