The talent that LSU has had the last few years offensively I understand. And with NIL the resources he’ll have as well. At Ole Miss this is a one time team every 5 years ordeal while LSU he’ll be doing this every year. The pressure is much higher though and sucks how it worked out but I understand.

Ehhh LSU in the pre NIL era was doing this every year. SEC has a lot of things to figure out in the NIL era it looks like.

If they win the chip or he doesn't get LSU as far as them within the next 2 years, he's a grade A goofball with egg on his face. I mean, he's already that fr anyway but even more so. He gets to run thru them Cajun co-eds tho I guess after already exploring half the Ole Miss campus.

It depends on his ultimate goal.

If he wants to win a single national championship, just to have the ring and clout....he's more MUCH more likely to catch lightning in a bottle at LSU and get a ring (Miles, Coach O etc).

If he's trying to be on some Bobby Bowden, Eddie Robinson, Bear Bryant-ish, Ole Miss is better because they'll ride out 8 and 9 win seasons for the natty shot 2x or 3x per decade.

Problem with a coach like Lane is that he hasn't won shyt. It's like hiring Urban Meyer but if Meyer had zero rings. You get ego, swag, loudmouth bullshyt but there's no proof of concept with Kiffin. He's a hired gun because LSU thinks Kiffin gets them over the hump that Kelly couldn't. They'll be looking elsewhere in 3 years if they're not knocking on the door of a natty.

DeBoer's days at Bama are numbered after what we all saw yesterday. I don't think the school wants him.......but if he gets LSU turned around quickly enough......

Depth is the killer.

SEC had a good 15 to 20-year run where the top schools could have a loaded roster with 5-stars all over the 2-deep. Probably had 3rd string 4-stars too.

Now the front line talent is similar but the depth is gone. That's what's killing them slowly. Can't just "out athlete" teams anymore.

I remember watching OOC games where a non-SEC squad would be holding their own but the SEC team, late in the game...would just start chucking the ball up to freak athletes at WR. QB would be some average John Parker Wilson type white boy but he had Ferraris and Lambos in the backfield and on the flanks. SEC schools got by with elite Black athletes and then an average white boy "face" of the program who got an inexplicable amount of camera time.

Now you gotta be dynamic all over....but without elite depth, the Xs and Os matter almost as much as the Jimmies and Joes.

Nope, it's still Oxford Mississippi.

LSU has better resources and will be able to field a better defense. Not to mention Baton Rouge is a better city.
Baton Rouge is a shythole too. He should've went to Florida, I know Gainsvelle sucks. But still would've chose Florida. But, he def made the right decision leaving Ole Piss.
Oxford,Baton Rogue,Gainesville. Good grief is work from home and option

Since College Players are now able to enter the transfer portal compared to previous years I don’t have a issue with him leaving or any other coach leaving..

This isn’t the Bobby Petrino’s mid 2000s dirty moves where u as a player is stuck at the school of have to wait to leave since the coach ducked out

No

He wasn’t satisfied with having to rely solely on the portal every year.

This.

Mississippi is in a no man's land when it comes to recruits. Sandwiched between LA and Alabama, Texas just west of LA. Tenn just north, and Arkansas northwest. Georgia east of Alabama.

They aren't legitimately competing with any of the big state schools there for recruits in their own backyard, except for Arkansas, but does Miss have pockets like that? The state is poor as fukk.

At least with LSU, he has an actual fighting chance of getting recruits outside of the state.
