This will always happen. It surged for a while, and now it's going to go back down. The big problem though is that if you look at the fundamentals, they've been bad for a very long time now. People simply can't afford to buy anything because the rich have been hoarding money, moving jobs overseas, trying to replace workers with robotics, etc. The price of housing, etc., has shot through the roof. Who can afford anything? If people aren't buying, then the companies aren't making money. They've shot themselves in the foot with their attempts to lower wages by any means possible.
Low interest rates and hence cheap money coupled with aggressive labor cost cutting allowed companies to make record profits in a fashion that wasn't sustainable. The stock market and even housing market is due for a definite collapse.

No more stimulus or tax cuts to pump up the market. I don’t think it’s a recession but it’s gonna feel like one once everything slows down.
