Mediocre offseason all in all. This team's gonna keep running in place until they decide to actually bottom out and /or actually leave the door open for a prospect to get a shot. In just the last week they've made Gary Sanchez and two Ma$e, Slade, and Austin expendable.

I don't hate the move but this what happened.

They replace Gardner with Jacoby. Based on last year's production this isn't much of an upgrade at all. If Jacoby returns to a couple years ago then yes it is a nice upgrade but we'll see. Gardner is also cheap where they overpaid like crazy for Jacoby.

They replace Grandy with Beltran. Power numbers have to go to Grandy at this point but his average has dipped. Let's say it's a wash because we know Beltran can play.

McCann is a huge upgrade at catcher.

Whoever replaces Cano will be a huge downgrade at second.

Whoever replaces A-Rod will most likely be a downgrade as well as A-Rod proved in his short time that he could still put up solid numbers at 3rd and there aren't many quality guys out there at 3rd.

So what does this all mean? It's basically the same production or possibly worse than what they had...
