When I first heard this song it didn't sit well with me because 1. He's really describing 'Ghetto Shyt' which, had he used that term, it would have been universal. But specifying 'nikka' puts it in a specific category to where u automatically think 'Black people.' . And 2. I notice he didn't say 'That Spic Shyt' and of course he wouldn't because that term is offensive and not to be used as endearment even tho some Hispanics do use it jokingly its very rare when they do so.

Listening to the song "I'm Real," featuring Ja Rule, I heard Jennifer Lopez say "I tell them nikkaz mind they biz'' but they don't hear me though." When I pointed it out to the listening audience, the response was mixed, but most were in favor of stamping her ghetto passport. Most people of color will always take that foot up the ass from some non-colored person and choose to sweep it under the rug. This may have been a survival tactic from back in the days of slavery-but this was the twentieth century. For a couple of months as I did my radio show, I felt the need to keep the issue on the table. With a large platform comes a small shred of responsibility, and I found this point to be worthy of my rants. Mentally dead negroes excused Jennifer Lopez and her pathetic outcry about being from the block. But the five percent of us who are conscious know that her actions had damaging repercussions on young children of color. Lopez, who appeals primarily to young Latino and white kids, gave her audience a green light to use and manipulate that racial slur at will. Boldly caucasian hustlers of the ghetto , the Quentin Tarantinos of the world, will claim that growing up around blacks in the 'hood gives them license to use the word. Sorry folks, but being colored is not a state of mind. It's not abouth whether Lopez had the right to profit and grow as an artist, but prior to this stunt she was a proud, positive promoter of Puerto-Rican pride. if Whitney Housten had recorded a track called "Hangin' with My Spic Friends" what would Lopezs' reaction be? Besides when people wave their ethnic pride in your face so bodly they shoud be made to stand accountable for the slightest infringement upon others ethnic pride. - Star

Of course you have prejudiced Latinos, but I guarantee you they are NOT the majority. (At least in Jersey, NY, and CT)


And if I'm in a store, or public, and hear a mom yelling at her kids "nikka didn't I say come !?" Very often it's a PR family . (I'm only speaking on Jersey and New York)

America really has the trickiest race relations on earth. Cause you can go to LA and see a lot of Mexican and Black ppl who damn near hate each other, but Still under the same Latino umbrella. Idk man, i really see a lot of Dominicans and PR's the same way I se black ppl. Now Asian, or white using the n word? No go for me at all.

I use spic sometimes on some fukking around shyt but I don't think I ever said that word around my family

I grew up with latinos and we all used nikka but I been tryna fall back on that word in recent years

Never heard my Latino uncles say nikka growing up but my oldest uncle starting saying that shyt in his late 40s when his sons got old enough and started saying it
