Yebba's 2nd album Jean, the follow up to her incredible 'Dawn' album is out March 6th.

So excited for this album. I've listened to Dawn at least once a week since release. It's just a phenomenal album and Yebba is a great talent who really deserves all the praise.

Anyone else excited for the new album? I haven't even listened to the single yet. I'm waiting for the full album.

Should be good.

I wonder if she’ll have some Glasper production on there.

It’s so funny for years I thought Yebba was a black girl from Toronto or London like some type of African or Jamaican with that name Yebba.

Then I saw that it’s it’s just Abbey backwards and that she’s Abigail from Arkansas :mjlol:

She’s nice though

A bit thrown off because of what I’ve heard her done on other r&b / hip hop records. I thought she was an R&B artist, but she’s really alt / country. I expected more of that sound because that’s how I became familiar with her. Glasper, Lucky Daye, Smino, Drake, etc). But I also understand this is her sophomore album dedicated to her grandmother maybe she’s trying to touch time / environment.

Cause it started out as white girl Arkansas music, then went alt, then picked up a bit on “Of Course”, then the pocket hit when it transitioned to Waterfall, then it blended a few songs after. I thought “Waterfall” would be the vibe of the album.

Of course it’s too early to review, but that was my first impression. Will listen again in a different environment.

She's always been quite versatile when it comes to doing different genres of music.

Yeah that’s fair. I think my expectations were just shaped by the R&B/hip-hop/jazz features I’d heard her on before, so that’s the sound I was expecting going in. Hearing more of the alt/country influence threw me off at first. I did like the pocket it hit around “Waterfall” though. I’ll probably give it another listen in a different setting, maybe even check out Dawn, after Pimmie.
