Lost a little respect when I found out he doesn't actually create music anymore but just try to evolve other's work
I understand the whole art of 'producing' but to label yourselves as some once in a lifetime genius and not actually formulate your music from your own ideas/mental blankness. I don't know it's just a little disingenuous. I can't even compare it to Dr. Dre, cause for one Dre isn't a self-proclaimed genius and most importantly Dre turns average to spectacular when it comes to others production purely based on sonic quality alone. You can hear the Dr. Dre effect, no one in the game has been able to replicate his quality ever. With all that said, I'm looking forward to his next studio album a lot, cause title be good music. But hr should cool down with the "above the genre" genius shyt.

When did you find this out?
I heard from John Legend that he doesn't make a lot of beats anymore, I did not get the specifics on if he doesn't make for other people or for himself or if the few he makes are for himself & someone he respects enough. Cause all his 5 albums are produced by him with a few of them having 1-3 beats created by someone else. While Big Sean, Good Music album (New God Flow) and WTT (Otis) were not produced by him.
I don't really care, he's got 5 solo albums produced by himself, if the dude wants to try something else on his 6th(!) album where he still leads the creative process, writes his own rhymes and on why the fukk not? Why lose respect?
