I’m not saying I disagree. Lupita is pretty but I wouldn’t say she’s as pretty as Amara la Negra, Kelly Rowland, Coco Jones, Kenya Moore, Naomi Campbell or other dark skinned women with universal appeal. Kerry Washington is prettier to me as well.


The thing is there are ppl in our community who will shyt on a girl because they just don’t find dark skin attractive, or you literally have to be born with an undeniable, flawless face like Kenya Moore or Amara la Negra for ppl to say you’re pretty.

Lupita doesn’t have to be the prettiest. She’s pretty and that’s fine. Her other qualities are what make her special.

The first paragraph acknowledging reality is where I am. The second is it's own separate discussion/issue and using Lupita to try to combat just perpetuates the cycle.

This is strictly about attractiveness in the eyes of men. She's pretty but not universal or not moving us on that level like that.
