I really thought a 2nd was the price a month ago, the return hurts but I am excited about Caleb and the team around him

TERRIBLE...

I WOULD HAVE JUST
KEPT HIM AS THE BACKUP
OVER A 6TH IN 2025
BECAUSE QBS GET HURT EVERY YR

From a competitive standpoint you're right and I would as well. But when teams draft a #1 overall qb they typically try to clean house and get rid of the past starter to avoid any locker room chemistry issues, controversy or fan sentiment if the new franchise qb starts real slow.

Plus they prolly wanted to do right by Justin and let him realistically compete for #1 qb job elsewhere.

Prolly could've gotten more at the start of free agency though.

Thats literally the best landing spot for him. Russ is a rental and Tomlin is a genius plus steelers are a s tier org. If he is going to reach his potential it would be there. M
Good luck to the breh

Caleb makes sense for the bears tho, unbiasedly. Probably the most QB desperate team in the NFL and a media labeled ā€œgenerationalā€ talent is there. They almost force your hand. But with the team that’s around him, and the city, Caleb steps into the most pressurized situation I’ve ever seen for a #1 overall pick

HE WASNT THE #1 PICK
BUT EVEN MAHOMMES SAT
BEHIND ALEX SMITH FOR A YR
AND IT HELPED.
