It’s…a miss, IMO. I have no incentive to listen to this again. Like…what? The beat choice, production style and the subject matter of 2004 don't go together. It's an attempted bop about sexual abuse.
I commend him for broaching the subject but trying to make a single or first song out of it is misguided.

I know...it's conflicting vibes but I give him respect for addressing this ignored issue...the sexual molestation of Black boys. The beat choice, production style and the subject matter of 2004 don't go together. It's an attempted bop about sexual abuse.

YG is so corny
He’s another try hard wannabe tough guy attention whore like The Game

Always appreciate a good rebrand… especially when it comes with a concept.
If he sticks with this schtick, ie, wearing this exact b/w suit and tie from the pre-album roll press campaign, every video shoot, TRL/106 and Parka guest appearance, SWAY freestyle, Good Morning America interview, USO Celebrity concerts, Sally Struthers retreats… even hood turkey giveaways in bomptons.
This could be huge if he stays in character all thru out.
To his manager, a&r, rep, pr personnel…
Yall mothafukkin listening?
.
TRL and 106 and Park?
My nikka still living in 2003.

No trying to hear this shyt more than once![]()

I can relate, I was 11 when I lost my virginity to a woman who was in her 30's. Thought I was the fukking man at the time. Then I grew up and realised how fukked up it actually was.
C-walk and throw up the W To a song about getting molested brehs.
