Gunna took his plea like 2 weeks before trial. The prosecution already knows YSL is a gang. They had known for YEARS. I know this as a 100% FACT. And it's 2 weeks before trial. The prosecutors are WAY past that. They are ready to get in the meat of these charges. At this point, the only way you can help them is to testify in front of the jury. Gunna did not do that.

I believe he plead no contest instead of guilty. The state won’t be able to use that plea against Melly like they would a guilty plea because a no contest plea is not admitting guilt. Unless he agreed to testify at trial as part of the deal

He's the definitive rat, he should be really grateful he has even survived through it instead of looking for sympathy and clout. Gunna didn't even name a single name in court. Yes, in a perfect world (in movies mostly), they book the crew, everyone shuts their mouth and the case falls apart, but in the real world the prosecution has evidence like wiretaps, transactions, camera footage, witnesses, bullet casings or actual crime scene weapons, informants and so on. You already know they're not bringing a case if they have nothing.

So let's say there's video evidence of you getting in a tinted car with 3 other dudes. 30 minutes later that car shoots up someones house. You didn't shoot though and maybe never intended to be a part of the conspiracy. So the prosecution serves you your football numbers, something like 40 years or life. You don't tell though. Later on you get offered a plea deal for 15 with parole on 10 without having to name anyone. You just have to say you didn't shoot. You take it. The burden on the other 3 dudes gets heavier. A dude like Thug will call you a rat for taking that plea while he's holding private concerts for detectives in his cell. What kind of bullshyt is that? It's wild everyone who takes a plea is called a rat now. 90% of criminal cases end in a plea. This shyt Thug is pushing is like some straight up prison industry advertisement type shyt. 16 years in the pokey (and you’ve already served at least 5) > life in the pokey for a crime you didn’t do.

If the offer was given to me, I would’ve asked where do I sign and do you want blue or black ink.
