My car is a 05 Acura TL with 102k miles in it. So it's time to replace the timing belt. Nothing wrong with the car at all and it's paid, so imma ride til the wheels fall off. That being said, I knew this was gonna have to be done around 100k miles.

The dealership where I got the car talkin bout $900 and some Change to do this and the water pump.

I call another Acura dealership around my job and they talkin about $1300. :wtf: are both spots tryin to rape my pockets or is this normal?

damn. coming from an actual dealership I'd expect them to charge a little extra, but for an 05' TL, and what I googled...I'd pay the $900 and have em' do it. :manny:

That sounds right. It's a labor-intensive job. The timing belt, water pump, parts and supplies for a timing belt change are relatively inexpensive.

If you know of a reputable private car shop that has a lower per-hour rate, that might knock off $200-$300.
