a few months back, I went on a date with a woman I ran into, after not seeing her for a few years, she used to work by me.

Anyway, she and I meet outside this trendy, packed place, Animae, in SD, and have dinner. Later, when she relaxed a little, she told me,

I was sharing my location with my friends --my thought was, one, this is public place, not some desolate town in Mexico or something. What are you worried about? Two, why would anyone want to kill your or kidnap you, and if they DID, and were that motivated to get you at a public place, would the location share stop anything?

it's like a security blanket for people.
No offence akhi
But she didn’t trust u yet
I can’t fault women for this

without sounding too Unabomber esque, it's a pretty useless tool, but tech companies convinced people they would have easier lives, and closer/safer relationships, based on nothing more than some press conference and quotes about the future.

Not saying there is no use for it but to use it to follow dozens and dozens of people, is absurd, and not helpful to anything but extreme anxiety and control issues.

in April or so, I was having a private moment with some girl I know through her friends, and they had some fight or whatever, and her and I are like intimately positioned, outside her car, and one of her friends runs up on us like "I FOUND YOU PLEASE COME HOME", location was on. To me, that's just extreme lol

I mean, none taken, but I am sure this is common, and not just me, or her

my reason for stating that is, even if she doesn't trust me, ok, what is the purpose? It serves none. It just feels like a reassurance.

He did crash for absolutely no reason at all. He could've talked about the surveillance state without revealing state secrets. shyt he could've made a fortune as a cyber defence guy.

Rob Braxman downloads Graphene OS and deletes Google apps on phones and makes a pretty good living at it.
Whats worse is that he withheld the Russia and China secrets just to shyt on the USA and got a life sentence in Moscow.

I think it's about disclosure tho..

Let's say you can marry the woman u love but she has to have access to your phone..
You'd probably still marry her but now you understand it's part of the contract

What he did was pretty stupid. Now he’s holed up in Russia, with Putin as his protector. Matter of time before Putin sends him to Ukraine. Or if Putin dies, whoever replaces him might treat him with contempt for betraying his own country. A man without honor.

You guys talking about ring cameras and location services are missing the point. Every single text message, internet search, social media post, phone call, email, etc the intelligence community has persistent access to.

This is a long discussion but this video goes over how the internet has been militarized and how governments are using it against it's local population.

The guy followed his conscious consequences be damned.....I can respeck it......there is only a small percentage of people that can willingly do that. Digital surveillance is the least of the worries......it's Department of Homeland Security that is really being overlooked with what they can do.....that's scary

What if I told you he was a Russian agent all along

There's other countries that don't have extradition treaties with us, but he chose that shining beacon of free speech and no government surveillance?

:mjlol:
Russia couldn't be pressured or embargoed or allies ostracized to get what America wanted......he chose good he chose well.....
