Everybody making good points but i agree with thread starter. Who knows maybe I am just getting old. I really do think internet has fukked a lot of things up though. Were just too over saturated with everything from movies to music.... I mean how can anything be special to me if theres so much of it and i can download it for free in seconds?....How can there be an influential celebrity when everybodys a celebrity on instagram these days? How can I soak up and fully understand information if i dont have to work to attain it? i.e. looking it up on Wikipedia

I will say this though...You have to appreciate the evolution in human technology and where its brought us, even if someday we'l eventually destroy ourselves with it.

for the millionth time, NO. Nobody is looking back at the 2000's like wow what a great time, shyt sucked for the most part. Only thing we can say is that present day is alott better than 2005-2008.

i'm a youngin and i'm tired with old-heads always lambasting our era. hip hop is much, MUCH better now than it was circa 2007. it's a lot more diverse for sure. of course the amount of music coming out the wash is much more than previous eras, and there's also a chronic lack of innovation sometimes, but overall i think rap now destroys rap in the 2000s and the 90s as well.

as for other media:
i feel like video games blow these days. my gaming interest peaked in the ps2 era, i just never acquired a legitimate interest in the newer generations.
i stopped watching tv a long time ago. i mostly just watch re-runs of old sci-fi shows these days.
i don't read modern books at all, but that's not because i dislike them, it's just i'm not really up on the newest hot author and what have you

At first I thought I was becoming But then the other day my 16 yo sister even made a comment about how she wishes she was older in the late 90s because people seemed more authentic in their nature back then when she watches media related to that era.
