I just googled wtf is PEMDAS, US y'all weird
in Kenya we use BODMAS as you can see, we do division before the multiplication.
Using BODMAS. Answer is 1.
With y'all PEMDAS answer is 9.
The answer is still 9 using BODMAS

6 / 2 (1+2) = 6 / 2 × 3 = 6 / 6 = 1
So, answer is 1
Why are you multiplying before you divide?6 / 2 (1+2) = 6 / 2 × 3 = 6 / 6 = 1
So, answer is 1
(1+2) = 3
- Brackets (parts of a calculation inside brackets always come first).
- Orders (numbers involving powers or square roots).
6÷2 =3
- Division.
3 × 3 = 9
- Multiplication.
- Addition.
Same rules apply. Math is a universal language. Its the same no matter what part of the world you are. BODMAS, PEMDAS, BEDMAS = same shyt.
- Subtraction.
Not really.
a(b) or (a)(b) = implicit multiplication or implied multiplication. Implicit multiplication is equivalent to ‘of' in bodmas
6/2(1+2)
6/2(3)
6/2 of 3
6/6
= 1
The question is ambiguous. 1 or 9 is correct.

Theres nothing ambiguous about it if you know, understand and execute the rules. The answer isnt 1 or 9. It IS 9.
After the parenthesis/brackets. When all your operations are at the same levels(in this example multiplication and division), you work left to right. That is true for BODMAS, PEMDAS and BEDMAS.
