The NBA is an event; its entertainment. Players have a right to have the game and surrounding factors to their liking. These guys are playing 82 games a year, it gets boring. Especially on a Sunday afternoon against a bad team. It's in the interest of the owners to surround the game with things to keep players and fans engaged. This was a stupid idea.

atmosphere plays a huge part in the game, only bums and guys who never played any real organize ball would understand that.

The sideshow stuff I'm pretty indifferent, but something like music helps keeps the players enthused and energized. Im speaking more from a player perspective, I'm not a casual fan so all the extras don't do much for me. March is literally the most boring time in the NBA season; good teams know they're in the playoffs and aren't going hard, bad teams are trying to lose on purpose, stars sitting out more.

The players are already going through the motions right now (except contract year guys) no need to make it a worse product with no music and entertainment.

I know the reading comprehension on average on this site is at a kindergarten level, but these posts epitomize just how braindead a lot of you are.

That poster was not saying we should go back in time. He was saying that fakkits like Draymond and other AAU-era, spoiled fukking man-children have no sense of perspective. The fakkit made 24 minutes of game time without music sound like he was being banished to Hades to grapple with Lucifer, meanwhile people like Baylor and Russell went through considerably tougher circumstances with lightyears more maturity and resolve. That was the point of that post.

Draymond is entitled to his opinion, but his outrage was so insanely ridiculous and coming from a place of ignorance, it betrayed how much of a spoiled fakkit he is. God forbid we mute the annoying fakkity gimmicks for a little bit ONE HALF.

I think it would be cool if it was possible to enjoy a game without the unnecesary gimmicks and flashes and other annoyances that inundate the modern basketball game, but yes, you have to entertain kids and women, and yes, some of those things are entertaining and fill up the boring gaps.

Still, it was cool to hear the game and nothing but the game.

Seems like MSG already has less music going on than in certain arenas anyway. Of course it felt strange with no music since we're all used to it.

Eddie Layton used to play pop music on the organ at MSG that's all you needed
