I got a MacBook, have an iPod, I see what you're saying. It's a pretty locked ecosystem which I suppose helps shore up the more beneficial parts of the ecosystem, such as the security, the ease of access between devices and all that
But man, I can't imagine having a phone, seeing Blonde by Frank Ocean leaked while I'm going to get some food, and being completely unable to listen until I got back 30 minutes later. WHICH IS THE SITUATION I FACED, but I have an Android. I know it's security but I love the chance to do that
A lot of it is ridiculous though. Why do they allow me to put any MP3 I want on this phone via USB but not via wifi or cellular data. Even more mind boggling why can I have a ton of music on my phone but can't assign any of it to a ringtone without going through iTunes on my computer first?
I appreciate the stability of the platform but there are a lot of basic features they deny their users and it's not all because of security. It's the way Apple has chosen to respond to the competition.

I know they used to have sync to iTunes through wifi as a thing, but I'm pretty sure you had to have both the computer and device on the same network and the device had to be plugged into a wall which made it ass backwards
The problem is the nikkas that buy iPhones for the most part just don't give a fukk to complain about these things. They just settle for work arounds and shyt. If the same people that are now realizing Apple doesn't give much of a damn about them were complaining 7 years ago before they dominated the game, the Apple experience would be perfect

Apple music seems to include all the albums on iTunes so I guess you're basically set in terms of albums via that path
