You guys knew what you were getting yourselves into with Apple products.

A big reason they are so restrictive is because many actually like the walled garden experience. They are obviously going to capitalize as much as possible with the opportunity.

More regulation = better control over the ecosystem = more control over the user = Bette roptimization of the software and hardware of the phone = less freedom = easier user experience because anyone can pick up an iPhone and use it

Android is the freedom to do wtf you want tho.i switched and will never go back

A lot of it is ridiculous though. Why do they allow me to put any MP3 I want on this phone via USB but not via wifi or cellular data. Even more mind boggling why can I have a ton of music on my phone but can't assign any of it to a ringtone without going through iTunes on my computer first?
I appreciate the stability of the platform but there are a lot of basic features they deny their users and it's not all because of security. It's the way Apple has chosen to respond to the competition.
:dead: Dealing with this issue with my wife right now.

I fukking hate Apple. I was doing shyt like that 10 years ago on a dumb Samsung candybar phone.

I don't even have itunes on this computer and am not gonna download it just to set a fukking ringtone.

This what happens when you don't jailbreak your phone, talking bout you don't need it. I download albums either 320kbps or FLAC everyday, and add them to my library from my phone. I have a app that could play FLAC, or I could just convert it to ALAC and transfer. No iTunes. I could assign them as ringtones too, and even clip it. All from my device.

These novices man :russ:. The only reason I would be on stock anything is if I copped it immediately after it came out. I hate doing that as when it comes to technology, early problems happens.

Apple definitely has some of the worst stans I've seen.

Every Apple keynote, I would lurk the macrumors live thread, just to read their reactions. You want to talk about sheep? Their was this guy, dude was destroying the keynote. He was furious about the headphone jack. That was the final straw. As soon as the keynote was over, the nikka said he hates the phone, but I'll cop it anyway because it's Apple :dahell:

That's why they dropped the jack. They knew people would still cop it anyway.

Little known fact, you can download .zip files through Dolphin Browser on an iPhone and open them with the Documents 5 app with no jailbreak needed. The only issue is if the content you're downloading is audio, it will play through the Dociments 5 music player instead of your Music app.

True that, but I would root my android phone too. It's all about freedom, and having the full capabilities of the device. The tweaks on my device, increases the value of the device. Note 7 physical specs was a beast, but the tweaks on my iPhone brings it up there. No tweak is giving you their screen display. It's a reason iPhone 8 might use a curved OLED.

Do you currently use that browser when you go on here? Every time someone post a Twitter screenshot, it only show the Twitter bird with the loading image. Browser download has to be the fastest I've seen for the iPhone, but that error is annoying.

I just upgraded my iPhone and there's not much of a difference other than it being kinda faster

Been a Apple customer for the past 7 years but I've noticed the iPhone has been getting less inovative with every release

The biggest feature I've noticed about the new iPhone is the lack of headphone jack:francis:
I can't even charge my phone and listen to music at the same time

I *think* any browser that uses Safari's WebKit engine has that issue on the Coli eventually. I've seen it in multiple browsers. Not sure of the root cause because some people never have the issue and others (like me) always have it. I use Safari on my MacBook as well, so it's still more convenient to stick with Safari for this one site.
