If you make mediocre music, you get a mediocre to sub-par response. He's a good rapper but his music has been bland i.e. Wrath of Caine. Fear Of God was probably where he stayed true to what he does while delivering solid music.
Pusha has been standing all on his lonesome mostly unfortunately. If him and Kanye worked together more though shyt would be fire. New God Flow was a monster

Don't think it has anything to do with that. He's a lyrical "coke" rapper. That's really difficult to push mainstream no matter how great the music is or how much Ye's involved.

He isn't that lyrical. He just has a unique cadence and cool schemes and shyt. He just can't craft songs on his own that are that great. He's hopping on to sounds that people already did first now.
To be fair though, he hasn't gotten any push whatsoever from his label or Kanye not that you can blame them.
If anything it's a miracle he's as big n/h as he is in today's music. If you told me looking at where he started and the types of music he was doing that he'd still be a semi-star in mainstream hip-hop in 2013 I'd laugh.
I just want him to drop one solid album that's true to what he's always done. Grimey and clever without poppy bullshyt or trying to imitate Rick Ross's sound
