i guess in your 20s you're a "young adult" and then by 30 you should be fully grown at that point:yeshrug:

I agree with this because it takes life experience to learn how to properly maneuver through the world with awareness and self reliance. Being financially self sufficient at 23 doesn't mean much if you end up getting trapped with 4 baby momma's or married to an unfaithful women who is going to destroy what you've built.

I’m a mom of soon to be 2, wife, home owner, and nurse (almost). I think I’m an adult at 26.:skip:

I could functionally take care of myself in my mid teens, possibly earlier. I didn't start having long term thought capacity (read as serious thought about my future) until 22/23. I wasn't supporting myself financially until 25 when I started my career. At that point I was doing "adult things" as if they were second nature even though I'd never done them before. I think I said it in the 6F6C random thoughts thread a while back, a lot of being an adult is just stumbling along trying to fool everyone else into thinking you know what you're doing. Most people ain't got a fukking clue.

It's true in this day and age, where cost of living is extreme. Unless you live down south, people spend more than 80% of their paycecks on basic expenses.

I say take your time and grow into yourself, cause the people that scream "I was on my own at 16!" always burn out even faster than their peers. Looking like they 60 years old at 35.

Your mentality tends to change after the age of 30,and things around you take a more realistic shape than they already had.
Also, since you tend to be more financially stable, real money takes on a totally different concept.

You're an adult when you decide to start acting like one. For some people, that age is very early.

There are 13 year olds who were raised right and carry themselves more adult-like and are more dependable than many 30 year olds.
Pretty much. It all pends on the person
