it was a different time then man. didn't have social media, no internet, no reason to be in the house in front of a computer or glued to a phone every waking minute. hell, no cable tv. it wasn't 24/7 consumerism. that's all these young kids know.

it's funny, i was reading the thread about why young people don't fix their cars up anymore and people were saying it's because they're broke. i'm thinking it's because instead of chrome rims and systems, young people are buying gucci belts and $500 jeans and shyt like that.

you hope you wouldn't fukk that kinda money off at a young age, but you can't really say what you would've done.

shyt, add in taking trips, too. I work with a younger guy, who is CONSTANTLY complaining about being broke. But every weekend, he's talking about how he's about to dip out of town to go somewhere and party.

I asked him once if he considered whether he was living beyond his means, and he immediately hit me with the , and proceeded to go in length to talk about how he keeps his costs low, but can't seem to get ahead.

But when I pointed out that copping flights and AirBnBs on the regular can't possibly be helping, he didn't want to hear that.

I mean, I love to travel as much as the next man, but I figured out real quick that I'd rather have extra money in my pocket to spend when and however I like than to blow it on what are effectively 24 hour trips.
