Either way whatever it is will be a huge shift on the mental plane as it will quite literally be a different world to which you are not accustomed or raised in.

You will have your full recollection of your life in this timeline. No one you try and tell about it will take you serious and if you persist in raving about the world you left they'll label you as insane in the membrane. Your living situation remains as is. So do your friends and family. You are simply cut from this timeline and pasted in the other over an alternate version of yourself that was born and bred in that realm.
Oh, and one more thing:
Due to the nature of spaciotemporal dilation and advanced quantum physics all genders will have shifted so male here is women there. Just to add to the confusion for those who partake in the experiment.
