over 14 years in the shade...
Lets look at it like this...
MJ bought the Beatles catalog. In the business world, do smaller businesses buy larger businesses?
did anyone mention MJ owns some of eminems songs??

and pop music is bigger than rock, so yea.
I mean I guess... pop music has 0 staying power. No one is going to remember Katy Perry in 10 years
Granted, MJ is a little different, but pop music as a whole is pretty inconsequential.

you right 10 years is actually such a small windowshe made that kiss a girl song... trust she will be remembered in 10 years![]()

Niigga, so did Cannibus and Cannibus dont belong no where near GOAT conversations. Ems bars aint nothin that hadn't been done before. Em said his self that he got his style from Treach (Naughty By Nature).
compare Canibus to Em brehsDude, Michael Jackson couldnt walk the streets ANY WHERE on the planet without being mobbed, people in the crowd fainting.. Paul McCartney can....
so the beatles would cause a mob in Mali, Iran, Zimbabwe, Bolivia, Cuba, Costa Rica, Uzbekistan?Rest assured if Paul McCartney strolled around in public there would be a mob. Stop it. That goes for anyone very famous, let alone a beatle.
And we're now almost 50 years removed from Beatlemania. Of course the hype died down a bit.
But when the Beatles first came to America, they were the most famous people on earth. They were getting the mass hysteria treatment as well. Just like Michael did.

MJ owned the Beatles discography. /argumentWhat argument do you have for Michael Jackson being bigger than the Beatles? Record sales, hit singles, tours....all Beatles.
I have no doubt Jackson is bigger among black people. But it ends there. Globally as a whole there is no comparison.
Post some proof if you disagree..
Meanwhile in California, a 25 year old Michael Jackson fresh off the astronomical success of Thriller, was in the midst of a two year publishing rights shopping spree. Ironically, it was Paul McCartney who first taught Michael about the publishing rights business. In 1982, while recording the song "Say, Say, Say" together in London, Michael briefly lived with Paul and Linda McCartney. After dinner one night, Paul retrieved a thick leather book from a shelf. The book, Paul explained, listed every song right that he had purchased in the previous decade. As if that wasn't impressive enough, Paul bragged that in the last year alone, he had made over $40 million in royalties ($96 million in 2013 dollars) from his song rights. When Paul was done speaking, Michael looked at him and said: "Some day I'm gonna own your songs". Paul laughed, and responded: "Great, good joke!"

....because Michael would......when I said the entire planet...I meant it.
I dont think that dude knows how powerful MJ was. People tend to forget because he doesnt linger around the U.S long. He was traveling the world nonstep since 6 years old until 40s. They still pay tribute to the man til this day....he touched and moved the world. He was special.Mu'fuccas would pass out and die if they saw Micheal
Granted this was MJ's hometown and the Beatles would get the same if/when they went back to Liverpool but still lol

You might want to check out those numbers internationally........I'm not denying MJ's fame. I'm just responding to the accusation that the beatles music somehow wasn't relevant anymore and that the younger generation doesn't really fukk with the beatles. And you can go on your "OH IT'S ONLY WHITE PEOPLE IN AMERICA" but that's simply not the case. They're probably just as big is England, and maybe even some neighboring countries in Europe. Fact is the beatles aren't going anywhere. Paul McCartney still tours internationally in like Japan and Brazil. It ain't all old white cacs.
But since we're on the topic, you can't lie... MJ's comeback in 2001 went over like a fart in church. Dude had one decent hit and disappeared again. Album was forgotten about in a month. Just keepin it real.
