Like on some dominance type shytIm in the military and just got to a new city, luckily my old boss just transferred out but i had to work with him for about 3 months, and he cancelled a school i was scheduled to go to because he thought i lied to him

But breh was just pulling rank and had to remind you who he was at all times. Say stuff like

"When i was in your shoes i had a wife and four kids. No reason you shouldn't be superb at your job, you single w/no kids"

I workout every now and then and he'll be like "You lifting all them damn weights but you better be ready for weigh ins, if not we gon put you on probation" Meanwhile this dude is a 5'6 stocky/pudgy Mexican dude with a damn comb over.

And all sorts of dumb shyt. Volunteering info i didnt even ask for. Then i talked with my boy, a guy whos been in for 20+ years and he also told me our supervisor would say the same type of shyt to him.Its one of those situations where he outranks me and you really cant say shyt.

How yall deal with a boss who's so insecure he gotta walk around with his chest puffed out. Besides not being that way when i get in a supervisor role

He had a wife and 4 kids which the only reason they with his ass is because he was in the military with stable income.

I believe in you doing your job but thats a poor ass example on why you can and can’t do your shyt.

As far as the weights shyt go I used to get that too. I be like “I pass my shyt though, I can do your shyt before you can ever do mines” and I legit said it. You got to understand your climate though.

I went in not giving a fukk, didn’t give a fukk about PT or PRT numbers because I knew these botchass nikkas could barely do pullups. If shyt hits the fan and you got to fireman carry a nikka out of danger, your bytchass run time not gonna mean shyt. But Ive done it.

But that comes with the territory you gonna always have someone thats intimidated by you but a higher rank. Just do your job, show up on time “word to @Dray5K ”, and pass what you need to pass

Is it one of those things where you gotta deal with it and just wait till you make some rank yourself or is there another option. He was just a hater, but its not much you can do if a superior wants to pull rank on you for whatever reason.

He transferred out last week but he cancelled my c-school orders bc he thought i lied to him. Even though i explained the situation to him, he got in his feelings and cancelled them, even though its mandatory schooling for my job. Now im going at a later date, going to have to teach myself out of the manuals at the unit and still meet the deadlines as everyone elsebut thats a whole other situation.

Other than not being like this dude when im in his position how can you deal with a supervisor like him.

I’m gonna tell you what a real OG Officer gonna do because don’t forget, a lot of these officers are fukking scumbags. Slobs, kiss asses, etc.

My warrant was enlisted FIRST, went officer... one of the hardest nikkas I ever met.

Black darkskinned too with a bad black wife... he was always on my ass about something but I gave him that respect. Never belittled me, always uplifted

Had another officer, this nikka was like 4 years older than me. Filipino dude tough as nails. He was the one that got me on different types of cardio like kettlebells, cleans, firemen carries, basically he felt like the Navy’s standard of physical fitness was out of touch.

You had these whiteboys who ran cross country in there but none of them were physical or “warriors” he saw my weight lifting background as a sign of being mentally tough. I used to PT in the mornings doing bullshyt command runs in at lunch he’d tell me to grab my shyt and we in the crater/pavilion doin nothing but kettlebells and calisthenics

Even them SEAL nikkas can run like crazy but they about all that shyt. Almost similar to gymnasts

Just do your thing my guy. All these bytchass nikkas like to do is run. I like to throw shyt, hit shyt, lift shyt, etc. shyt that’s actually useful in the fleet. If you can do both you might as well become Specops

Depends on the job sometimes you gotta be ego trippin as a boss.. its what separates you from the average person

if its warranted.. to be great at something , anything, you need an ego about yourself.. if you dont have an ego about yourself, you will always be mediocre..

I dont know about military like that so not sure how promotions are handed out.. where say in the corporate world they may (sometimes but not always) be rewarded to people who do good at they job (sales)

Its pushed back but just get with some cats that’s already been through it. Not gonna be the sane, but get their knowledge as much as possible so when you do go you ahead of the game

But yeah, I’ve had that too.. nikkas gave me an excuse like “because you’re mission critical here” knowing gotdamn well I should be the first person going.

But look at it like you know what NOT to do when you’re a supe.

And yeah, most enlisted just saluting you over that rank. It’s different when they’re saluting you because you know you gonna stand up for them, vouch for them, get in the mud with them. Enlisted run the military. You get your guys behind you and they will literally die for you

Real nikkas gonna bust a move. As a leader, you got to be a real nikka ready to bust a move and have knowledge on the best course of action. And also be open to advice from smarter nikkas under you that you train. Rank is one thing but everyone is human and your rank means nothing except you are a leader to everyone below you.

True. I think my LPO is racist and a hypocrite though so I don't respect her as a person, but I'll respect her rank. She's the only one I'll even think about talking back to in my office.
