The three main things I notice we hear from every artist is
1. Their parents were military
2. Their parents were heads of churches or "radical" political movements
3. Or their family were in entertainment

It’s like every entertainer somewhat have the same background.

That's just straight up not true, you just notice those because PR teams want those kinds of upbringings being mentioned for engagement, makes interviews easier

the military one is a super reach that's not one we hear about all the time

Nobody asks the artist who's parent worked in HVAC any details about it :yeshrug: that conversation leads nowhere

Well, I will say for musicians, church does have a lot of instruments and they don't make you pay for them, so you get to practice. And singers at black churches, you get to join a choir and maybe have a serious choir leader. As far as them being heads of churches, I don't know if that's true. It may feel like that because not everyone that goes to church participates

The book "weird scenes inside the canyon" explores this, about how many of the 1960's bands centered around Laurel Canyon were .mil kids or well connected. Have not read it but have listened to a few podcast about it.
