We supported the movement. We gave every nikka in the city a chance.Rare.We brought albums we should have never heard of.All off the strength of Mike Jones,Paul Wall and Slim Thug.We got shytted on in the end.nikkas started beefing and the rest is history.Once Flip got wrote off we should have got out the game.

You nikkas owe us.

Don't Believe the Hype
I still bump a couple joints off that People's Champ LP. That joint with T. I., Freeway, Smooth Operator, Sittin Sidewayz, and my favorite joint: Sippin' the Barre.

And I'm from Jersey.

Damn this thread is actually 100% on point. I listened to 2 Paul Wall albums, 2 Chamillionaire albums, Slim Thug, Get Ya Mind Correct, Controversy Sells, checked for Z-Ro, even some Big Moe joints. I don't even give DC hip hop a chance like that and I live here. Houston had a great look but didn't really capitalize like that...

Where is this coming from?

I was high as fukk riding home listening to Still Tipping.Had a flash back to the days nikkas was bumping 'Back Then' even tho it is and was garbage.Houston prolly the only city 97% of all the rappers got a legit chance at one point and blew it.

Z-ro and Lil Keke both dropped new albums last year. K-rino got one coming. Lil O got a new mixtape yet, shyt is decent.
Paul Wall dropped a tape too last year and Slim Thug stays releasing new music every Thursday
Mike Jones hasn't been the same since he got beat up by Trae at the Ozone Awards.

Dawg H-Town been in the game for years & produced some timeless classics in the 90’s. Even though the rappers coming out of H-Town wouldn’t turn down the opportunity of blowing up they never put stock in that because they've been doing it out the trunk for a min.. They can make it independent & would rather not deal with the record labels & BS A&R’s telling them what kind of music to make…Its just Houston culture…Grind and hustle

they aint blow it..they aint sell out to the labels..the majors came in n tried to capatilize off the sound...like they do every city..

they came in..n seen these nikkas down here was eatin good underground wise..they sell em a dream rerelease an album thats already out..n try n make money on that..then release they major label debut..

n sit on the rapper for yrs..when nikkas marched to their on drum released when they wanted to ate better n didnt have to answer to nobody..

these nikkas dont owe u shyt tho...the labels do..they fukked it up for u...

I think most houston nikkas never really cared for the fame or international exposure. DJ Screw, Pimp, Ro are all cases in point. they just been doing their thang since the 90's and keep it pushin :manny:
