I try not to engage you because you're clearly entrenched in your position but you keep using this idea that the "mainstream media" said that there were wmds in Iraq as though they made it up out of thin air. Those of us paying attention at that time know that information came from the president's administration at that time. It would have been ridiculous for the media not to report what the Pentagon was stating as the reason why our country was going to war.

That reason turned out to be false, whether that was due to the Pentagon having bad intelligence or deliberately misleading the country it still needed to be reported until it was proven false.

Also the idea that we went to war because the media reported information that turned out to be false is just stupid. The congressman that voted for the war weren't getting their information from CNN and Fox news, they were being briefed by the white house and the Pentagon.

Lastly, not being given a platform by a private media company isn't censorship. I can't demand to have a timeslot on MSNBC whenever I want to say whatever I want but that's not censorship. If a private company decides that their business model will be to allow free and easy broadcasting services to anyone who wants to use their service but sets rules on that service, banning or suspending someone who breaks their rules isn't censorship because no one is owed the platform being provided. It's a service that a company is providing with guidelines for use. If you can state definitively that Alex Jones never broke the rules set by the platforms he was banned from then you might have a case for censorship, otherwise you're full of shyt.

Same with the IRA creating fake "pro-black" groups on Facebook in 2016 to encourage black voters to stay home on election day. His narrative is a running trend on this forum where any highly controversial issue is desensitized by blaming the issues on Russia. The Bush administration was responsible for the war in Iraq and used a lot of shady tactics and bullshyt information to get us into it. The NYT got used but that doesn't mean they should be censored or that they did something wrong. They ran a story based on information from a credible source in the white house. They kept their source anonymous in order to keep getting information. That's basic journalism.
