Tyvm for posting that really cool cause I frequently loving him. Interesting to see that.

You should watch that HBK/Bret Rivalries DVD they did. You get a lot of insight on their relationship along with the problems they had. They have the utmost respect for each other and IMO it was the last true rivalry that WWE has seen because they didn't like each other towards the end at all but they still got in the ring and worked great together. Two wrestlers who truly loved what they did in the ring... I can't even think of anything to compare to it because they HATED each other at one time.

shyt was like Magic/Bird on the court but if they truly didn't like each other.

I dont see how WCW couldn't put the WWF out its misery I remember reading meltzer article on the screwjob and think the WWF was done how could the wrestlers even trust Vince. Would've been crazy if cats like Taker, Owen and Foley would've jetted same time Bret did. Rick Rude was the realest he saw how dirty they did Bret and buried the WWF. WCW had a dream team roster and pretty much had 1st and Goal at the 5 and settled for field goal.

Bruh it's a shame how they dropped the ball with Bret. All they had to do was start booking plans for Canada as soon as they signed him and run a tour there for like a month. First show he comes on and just shyts all over WWF and Vince. Whole fukking promotion should have been booked around that shyt but they just completely dropped the ball.

That was the difference between Vince and everyone else, he saw the vision of what tobdo next and he ran with it. Wrestling was already at a point where they wanted "tweeners" and the heels to he cheered. Bret could have put them out of business once he went to WCW but they honestly didn't know what they had or how to capitalize on it. He should have been doing exactly what Stone Cold was doing in ECW when he got shytted on in WCW...blue print was laid perfectly for them and they fukked it up.

I always heard Bret would even have lost to Michaels before or after in the US. He just didn't want to lose to dude in his home state on his way out the door.

Like you said, everything happens for a reason. This is probably the real catalyst to every major event of the first two years of the Attitude Era. Just think of the effect if Hart stays:

- Bret stays, doesn't get the Goldberg injury that completely fukked him up. Stays around and evolves into the Attitude Era but doesn't quite fit in.
- Owen probably doesn't do the stunt or at the very least, Bret makes sure everything is done right
- Michaels probably doesn't fight Taker at RR and messes his back up. Probably continues spiraling deeper down the drug hole. Also wouldn't have relinquished his backstage pull.
- Austin's rise possibly delayed by months
- HHH doesn't break out into a leadership role (or at least it's delayed) until DX is broken up and he feuds with Michaels.
If Bret Hart had stayed I really think WCW wouldhave still been in business. Despite the hoopla I doubt the WWE would have went out of business like they hyped it up to be. They would probably both being doing good business.

This is the dumbest thread ever.

Vince had to let Brett go because Brett was getting five million dollars in WCW.

If he paid Brett he would have to pay Sean that much money too, so let's punish Brett for making so much money in WCW.

In his 5 year WCW contract Bret made 23 million which is basically more then Shawn Michaels has made in his entire WWE career

Did Shawn"s greatness also allow Vince to let Hall and Nash go too? :stopitslime:

Bret said he would job to shawn at raw the next night in Murica, but he couldn't in good conscience drop it in Canada after shawn had fukked the Canadian flag

Problem is that the screwjob, Owen dying, his career ending injury and his stroke all happened within like 3-4 years of each other after the screwjob. I'm sure there's a part of him that always feels like the Screwjob was the kickstart to the darkest period of his life, so it would be impossible not to feel some type of way about that whole situation.

What a genius plan. That would've been amazing
