You Need a Budget, or YNAB, is an online budgeting tool. It is probably the best budgeting software out there. I've been using it for years and it has transformed the way I spend and save money. It costs $84 a year currently for new customers, but the price is worth it because you will probably save at least that much once you learn how to use YNAB. You get a free 34 day trial when you sign up so you can decide if you like it or not. YNAB recently got an overhaul which is supposed to make it easier for newcomers to learn the software. I recommend exploring the website before starting the trial so you can learn about all of the features of YNAB.

I used to use it but every once and a while the banks (or maybe it was just mine which was PNC) change their protocols and the sync would mess up. I used it for about two years so I learned the habit and don’t use it anymore. It was great at first though

IMO nothing beats Excel. I tried to convert to using YNAB but my own bespoke excel spreadsheets works best for me

I don't really budget anymore. I was able to get into a rhythm where I save x amount each paycheck. If I ever have to tap into that I know I'm doing too much

I've never heard of this...I've been using Mint for what feels like more than 10 years, tho.

I used Mint a long time ago so I don't know how that service is now. YNAB was better for me back then and it's the only budgeting app I've used since then. You should probably watch some YNAB vs Mint videos on Youtube.
