You need to admit that the ESPN app is trash and embrace The Score app.

Downloaded it around 2013-2014 when I was heavy into fantasy. Never looked back.

I been waiting for apple to finally crush the buildings with a sports app, but it doesnt look like its gonna happen.

They had it as a section of the news app and then broke it out to its own sports app. You can put games youre following on the lock screen or dynamic island, and itll tell you which streaming service games are on. But it doesnt have basic ass stats and standings.

After 8 weeks of rigorous side-by-side testing with theScore vs. Bleacher Report, I’m excited to announce…

I am taking my talents to TheScore - EXCLUSIVELY. I want to thank @Remote for the recommendation.

-theScore has the same important breaking news notifications and they usually beat BR by at least a couple minutes

-BR be spamming the shyt out of my notifications with clickbait about silly ass trade scenarios, live breakdowns of nonsense, rankings lists nobody cares for, etc.

-I also like the live score tracker you can select on theScore where it puts whatever game’s score on your lock screen. Their iOS widget in the notification center is solid too.

Adios Bleacher Report notifications. Thanks for holding me down all these years. Time to move on.
:salute:

I'm glad you are enjoying it.
I like its simplicity.

I just wanted to share to give people an option.

I've had the ESPN app on my phones for years, mainly out of laziness. But it's quite possibly the worst sports news app on the market.

Slow, clunky, freezes and crashes constantly.
And often blocks sports sections you want to access with ads for UFC or other live events.

If you want a simplified app that cuts to the point, download The Score app.

:wow:

Now sure. You could get MLB or NBA or sports specific apps. More power to you if that's the route you prefer.

I deleted the entire app off my phone at least a year ago. all they got is headlines, and don't even think about trying to watch a highlight or read a story cuz you're either getting hit with unkippable ads to watch a 10 second clip or the article is behind a paywall.

I been using the athletic as my main sports app because it only cost like $10 a year for the subscription service. it used to be even better, but now they got ads on there unfortunately.
