I almost never put gas in my car and not fill it up. If I'm stopping to put gas it's a full tank or nothing. Then i drive it until it's back to empty again and refill. No sense in doing it any other way

I do it like this whenever I can afford to. Making more stops than necessary at the gas station is annoying. Lord knows I've had those days where I could only afford $3.00 in the tank though

True that because I certainly wouldn't return a rental with significantly more gas than when I got it.

I try to do the same. It's easier that way and you make less trips to the gas station. There have been times though when say it's a Wednesday and I'm on E, but I don't get paid until Friday. I would just put like enough to get me through those two days and then fill the entire tank up on Friday.

Usually I fill my lawn mower gas can at the same time I fill up my car. A gallon of lawn mower gas last damn near all summer tho.
