There is no gender war. There was, however, a very active PR war against bm waged by bw since the 60's, with funding and institutional support, incl academia, the media, and government, even the black church. It only became known as a 'gender war' when technology gave unapproved bm (rappers were approved, educated bm were not) the opportunity to respond.
Thus, it has ALWAYS been an exercise in gender based antiblackness, ie, c00ning. This is obvious to those of us inculcated into black American culture prior to the era it began. Black American divestors raised among us realize, this is a departure from the norm.
