Milk crates, garbage cans, and fire escape ladders were all used as rims. In the crib I used hangers with socks and aluminum foil balled up for balls.

Use to hoop with boxes though. I would cut open the bottom of a small box, tape it to the door (that was my backboard). and I used a balled up sock as the ball
