I have like 2 months worth of bills saved up. The recommended emergency fund is supposed to be 6 months worth of bills, so I have money, but not what I would feel comfortable with. Thanks for the support. I feel like it's gonna pay off because I refuse to not make it pay off.

I can respect that. You have to make the best decision for you. We all have different things going on. I don't live with moms though. I live by myself. One of the best things going for me is that don't have kids or a wife. All of my money is literally for me.

I got a weak ass business administration degree. My resume is on point, but still. For some reason, I been getting a lot of feedback from jobs that I'm under qualified for. I figured out that those job descriptions are wish list, even if they say requirements. These jobs shoot for the best and take who they can get. The Financial Analyst job I applied for says they require an MBA:shaq2: But them fools contacted me based on my resume with my Bachelors and I didn't even apply for that position.

Underqualified is code for wanting to pay you less for the job you are applying for. You're right, the want you to take the job and perform all the wish list tasks. ..

Overqualified means you want more money than they're willing to pay for the job.

Update:

Thought I was out of the running for that Financial Analyst position, but they just called me to set up a third interview:blessed:

Also, I have had contact with about 5-6 companies since I left my old job. All paying more than what I was making. Haven't had any face to face ones yet (except for the Financial Analyst position) but I have had a few phone interviews and a few initial conversations with recruiters. This is not including the 3 companies that contacted me who I told I wasn't interested because of salary or what the position was. I've literally had interaction with about 10 companies since quitting. I knew opportunities would present themselves, but I didn't know it would be like this.

On the non job shyt, life is great. Time is money, so a nikka is rich right now lol. I've been brushing up on some Excel shyt and doing some Real Estate research, but I'm sure I could be more productive with my time. A nikka be at the gym hooping like I play in the NBA:mjlol:

I got a lot of support from people for my decision (Thanks to my coli brehs too:wow:) A lot of people tell me they wish they could do the same, but circumstances prevent them. And some people told me that it had them thinking about quitting their shyt:whoa:

Do they give you two weeks before they fire you or lay you off?

Depends... been laid off twice.. in 2000 and 2002 ..
in 2000 we basically had a 1 yr notice and if we stayed our severance was 6months..
in 2002 I got 3 weeks (4 cause i was messing with the secretary and she told me) notice and 4 weeks severance

Wow:wow:

Didn't think I would be able to wrap this thread up this soon. I got an offer this morning for that Financial Analyst position. Quite a nice offer might I add. No need to negotiate anything. All I gotta do is accept and do the onboarding shyt now. The recruiter told me they prepared an offer that was attractive because they really wanted me:dwillhuh: This whole time I'm thinking that I was in over my head. I start the Monday after next.

I'm glad this shyt worked out. I just made a fukking power move. I got the W this time. I'm sure I'll take some L's in the future lol. But right now, I got that W. I gotta start being more spontaneous

Edit: Appreciate the support and advice from all my Coli brehs

I start my new job tomorrow, only 21 days after I quit. Still can't believe shyt worked put so well. Upping for some motivation before the work week for everyone. You don't have to quit your job spontaneously, but if you are unhappy, start making preparations to change that. I see so many people sell themselves short and settle, or think that they can't get certain jobs. You would be surprised.

Can't lie breh this thread's inspired me :salute:

The job I work at now makes good money and fits my career goals but I'm far away from friends and family and just generally unhappy. About to land this new job that'll put me closer to them though so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel :blessed:
