Rappers always say go independent after they made their name and money on majors. Even Russ doesn't own the masters for his bigger songs because those came out on major labels. Tech9 is the only millionaire rapper that's never signed to a major. They're all millionaire indie artists in other genres like rock but rap music is trendy basically no one will listen to you until you have social proof. Punk rock is different those fans take pride in discovering underground artists
