It was really just white dudes who wanted to cling to something that represented "conscious street" music instead of cats like Gucci and Jeezy they couldn't understand.

Kendrick is disarming to them so they think by adopting that, they can show how "down" with the culture they are.

Who cares? First of all hes not all that conscious. Hes fake. He walks around rapping about murder, drugs, and guns. That nikka never busted a gun in his life, and hes probably never sold a rock either. Like keep it real overall. Don't rap about choppers when you don't bust choppers.

And i mean conscious =/= good rapper. Good rapper = good music. Immortal technique is conscious. But is he a good rapper though?

Like i said i just don't feel anything this dude brings to the table. One or two songs are okay, but even his songs that i do like i can't really bump.

I put Chief Keef over this nikka.

I realized how overrated this dude was when Drake mopped him on both the songs they were on together.

Now don't get me wrong, on Memories Back Then, he did damage...but outside of that? I ain't heard much I've really been floored by.

He's a good rapper...just not much beyond that.

He's above J Cole, but really lacking what makes me want to connect to his music.

Seems like a troll thread but i'll bite.

Kendrick is a good lyricist with an exceptional flow. That's why I like him. He isn't a bad lyricist by any means, but I think there are better lyricist out there (ab soul, lupe, blu). However, I think he puts more effort into his flow/delivery than any rapper has done in a long ass time, and he switches it up, so it is very interesting to listen to. Add in a mix of semi concious subject matter, introspection, braggadicio and just a unique and engaging personal perspective, he really sets himself apart.
