You run a shop and someone came in and stole $100 without your attention.

The person came back and used the same money to buy $60 worth of items from your shop and you gave him a change of $40.

How much money have you lost?

Explain your answer so we know you didn't do ya googles. :patrice:

100. Youve just given the items away for free.

FINAL ANSWER FOR COLI: the amount is lost is $100

@TheRealfG's post below is wrong, it's not $200

here are the steps:

1) thief steals $100 (owner is at -$100 now)

2) thief comes back, wanting to buy the $60 product and pays the owner $100 (owner is at 0 because -100+100=0)

3) the owner gives the thief the $60 product and $40 in change (-100+100-60-40 = -100, we were at 0 but the owner is down $100 again)

in total the owner is at -$100

@TheRealfG says it's -$200 because the thief stole $100, then got $60 in product and $40 cash, BUT you're ignoring the fact the thief had to PAY THE $100 BACK in order to get $60 in product and $40 cash

how dafukk does the thief PAY for $60 in product and get $40 in change back, but keep the $100 he paid with? Coli logic :snoop:

$200

because he stole $100 cash from the store then came back and bought took $60 of goods and got $40 in change from the store . In total the store lost $100 cash (the first time) and another $60 in goods and $40 in cash (second time). Therefore, the shop keeper lost $200

:mjlol:at these responses.

None:demonic:

Foreal though..
I lost $100 fam:dame:

Let's say I have $140 cash and $60 In merchandise (the shirt). I have $200 total

He hit a lick and now I have $40 and $60 in merchandise

He come back with my $100( at this point I am out of $100) and still have $100 in assets

He exchanges the 100 for $60 worth of merchandise

Now I have $100 + my $40 and no $60 merchandise

I give him $40 in change from my $140

I now have $100 and have lost $100 in assets($60 in merchandise and $40 in cash)
