You studied my rhyme, then you laid your vocals after mine (Jay Elec / Kendrick)

The song came out like a minute after Kendrick laid his verse so there was probably pressure to release it quick (before Sean's album at least)

So Elec was prolly like nah just put it out, get your little buzz from it (Sean)

Also he might've thought his verse would stand up to the others in the court of public opinion but he forgot no one respects bars these days so he got slept on heavy

The verse was still good IMO. Maybe he just didn't feel like penning a new verse cuz he was winning in Call Of Duty

Honestly the only hype thing Kendrick did on that verse was call out rappers.

It's no question that technically Jay Elec verse was way better. It's clear y'all nikkas don't even listen to music...

Kendrick whole flow is making it sounds like he's "going in" but all he saying is normal as shyt:dead:

yea kendrick is all cadence+flow+aggressive voice with some 3000-esque storytelling depending on the track

i've never heard a fire metaphor, entendre, or punchline from dude but his flow is usually so on point that he can cover up those weaknesses well :manny: it is what it is cuz he does what he does well

but you can tell what nikkas really listen to his lyrics, nikkas be on here sayin he's better that lupe when he was in his prime :snoop:

shyt even drake can string together some dope entendres and metaphors on a consistent basis when you think about it :yeshrug:

he's nice but definitely not as complete/perfect as nikkas try to make him seem

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
i love jay elect...but this. fukk the politics of it all...if i'm on a feature with a nikka that can spit i'm no gonna be on cruise control just in case that man may pull a kendrick.
Nah son..I shyt on Jay Elecs work ethic all the time on here...but if what nikkas sayin is true..shyt was mad selfish on Kendrick's part...the song had a theme and nikkas followed it..then the other feature wilds out on it and its too late to even do anything about it...shyt ain't right fam..

that's exactly how i saw it too, nikka disrespected big seans concept AND called him out on a track that was supposed to be on his album

extremely vulgar :scusthov:

Not gonna break it down for you, would only be my interpretation of it :aicmon:

Just saying people are listening to Kendrick's delivery not giving a fukk about lyrics like damn this goes hard :ohhh:

Then Jay Elec comes on spitting jewels and they're like :rudy: who is this
What are some of the jewels. Drop a couple then maybe nikkas would revisit the verse. I paid attention to all three verses and Kendrick's stood out because it was a good gumbo pot of word play, flow, aggression, and competition.

Jay Elec was spittin too but this particular verse was over shadowed...unless he dropped some jewels that went over our heads.

That is why I am asking you to give us your interpretation of it.

Kendrick got others rappers fans having imaginary conversations with them :wow:

"Yo Jay, you probably heard that verse and was like...'nah not worth my time and effort.....right?' "
*Jay Elect cut-out of a magazine stares back*
"Yeah I knew you were like that.....We're going to be best friends forever  "
*Hugs JE cutout*

Where was the wordplay in Kendrick's verse? People swear it was lyrical but he rhymed nikkas with nikkas like 5 times

Some of my favorite lines are the one about tethering your Chevy Nova, references some parable in Islam about trusting in God but tethering your camel, read the parable it's kinda cool

Magicians fidgeting with the cobra... if you're a Jay Elec fan you know he's on that Act 1/Act 2/Act 3 shyt, referencing the movie The Prestige which is about magicians... basically he's saying other rappers are tryna do magic like him but they can't, they're even scared of the snake they're using in their magic trick (so basically they're fukking lame :heh:)

Eyelashes like umbrellas... tissue is like an angel kissing you in the dark... very vivid imagery :whew:

The lines about rock/Roc alone have more meanings than Kendrick's whole verse, and those are the simple lines he's just throwing out, prolly took 10 seconds to write em

Wait - Kendrick was supposed to wait for Jay to drop a new verse? The same guy that puts out 1 verse a year? I don't think so.

the fans of everyone's favorite new artists that kendrick called out are feeling some type of way, instead you should be championing for better music from your favorite artist jay electronica like the release of act 2 :smh:
